"For the price this is hard to pass up. It is complete.
The overall story has an earth friendly (tree hugger) theme to it that works if you ask me. (Melting Polar Ice caps and all.)
The 3d and 2d is stunning for a production that is 10 years old, and still very good by todays standards. This was a first time for an anime created completely digitally. IE: All done on computers both the 3d and the flat 2d work.
That being said this could have been horrible. With the team being caught up in "new technology" it could have easily set the production staff to focus on all the wrong things.
But in fact it is very good. When I watch this takes me back a few years. The style brings back feelings sparked by other (much older) anime. Akira, Bubble Gum, Megazone 23, and MD Geist all come to mind when I watch this. That isn't to say this compares to them... just is reminiscent of that class of "classic anime" with a much newer feel.
Overall the price is so cheap and the package has enough extras that this is REALLY hard to pass up.
I bought it and would buy it again if I lost my copy."

"When i was but a wee one i saw BS6 when it aired for the first time in America on cartoon network (rock on). Then it never aired again... ever. When i saw it on Amazon i had no choice but to get it. I wasn't disappointed, but the dialog leaves something to be desired, and the entire storyline seems rushed. The visuals on the other hand are astounding, some of the best i have ever seen. Its more of a rental than a classic, but its pretty cheap."

"Blue Submarine No. 6 is a good mini series with a fascinating style of animation. The only qualm i have with the product is the A and B side use of the discs. i new that the product had three discs but only one episode is on each side of the discs. This is an unnecessary feature because it's a mini series and doesn't need to have an A and a B side for four episodes. This neglects any option for disc art too!
There is no where on the information page of the DVD collection that describes this feature/fault.
To be honest. i would not have bought this product knowing i would have to get up and either flip the disc or change the disc after each and every episode. You also have to set the language and subtitles. You have to sit through the animation and production company logos that you cannot skip through on each episode."
