I must have read the book about 60 years ago but thoroughly enjoyed the Disney movie now! A love story between boy and dog is usually enjoyable and this one is exceptional for the beautiful dog and so much exciting countryside. Fun watching the pups Red eventually sires and why the big red dog can no longer be a "show" dog. As a former breeder/owner and show dog handler I found the show ring antics fun but far from factual! Still a great movie for any age.
