Another in a long line of Star Wars rip-offs during the 70's and 80's. Actually a rather quality, fun watch. A good smattering of classic acting talent. Roger Corman's elaborate (by his standards, anyway) "Star Wars" cash-in is basically a space version of "The Magnificent Seven," with Richard "John-Boy Walton" Thomas as an emissary from a peaceful planet, sent out in a rickety old star ship to recruit mercenaries to help defend his world from the evil Count Zador (Boo! Hiss!). When he comes back with a motley crew of guns-for-hire including George Peppard, Robert Vaughn and Sybil Danning, lots of lasers zip around and a lotta stuff blows up.
