Perfect book for a newborn to age 2

"My son loved the baby songs videos which he started to "watch" from 4 months on. We would play a video and then put him to sleep in an effort to establish a bedtime ritual for his age. I am sure he did not watch the videos at the beginning; however, he certainly knew the songs and as his speech developed he was able to tell us which song was coming up next. Of course this repetition might drive you crazy as a parent. But babies love repetition. About every 6 months, we introduced him to another Baby Songs video. He loves them. The songs are sweet and the children sing along on many of the tunes. Babies of all ages, shapes and colors are represented. A truly professional movie. My son is almost 4 and has outgrown the baby songs videos, but every once in a while I remind him of the movie he loved as a baby and we both enjoy watching it. Highly, highly recommended!"
The BEST of the baby songs

"I don't get it...I just read a review that stated that the Original Baby Songs was better than this one. Whoa...it's not even close in my opinion. I have the Original Baby Songs, Baby 1-2-3, and Baby's Busy Day, and there's just no comparison in my daughter's opinion (and mine as well).
The tunes are just that much "catchier" than the other two. Maybe it's an age issue (my daughter is 13 months), but she must have my tastes because Baby's Busy Day is the only one that immediately gets her attention and puts a smile on her face.
Until about the age of 1, she was most interested in the Baby Einstein movies. But as soon as she turned 1, she got really bored with those. So we bought a 3-pack of Baby Songs and she is hooked. She dances, screams, laughs, and just loves Baby's Busy Day.
I would recommend them all, but without question Baby's Busy Day is an overall much more fun DVD. It does have some outdated video (lots of early 80's shots if I'm guessing right), but it's more about the music and the children's interactions than the clothes they wear.
My only gripe is that the songs are so catchy that I've started humming them at work. You should see the looks I get!
Please, if you're going to try one Baby Songs, make it Baby's Busy Day ~ you won't regret it."
Your baby will love it!

"We have rented this DVD from the library so many times that we now plan to buy our own copy. My 19 month old daughter asks for it by name. Yes, the songs are a bit corny and the hairstyles and clothes are a bit outdated (which I find endearing in a nostalgic sort of way), but your baby or toddler is sure to adore it. Isn't that what really matters? As far as the individual songs are concerned, we do have a few favorites. There is only one song that I usually skip (so easy with the DVD). It is about a rag doll that comes to life and I find the image of her flopping around a little strange. It doesn't seem to bother my daughter a bit. All in all it's a great DVD and I unreservedly give it 5 STARS!"
Try the others first.

"Hap Palmer is very talented and has been writing kids songs at least since the mid-70's (my sister got one of his cassettes while in college getting a degree in elem. education). All 3 of my kids have loved his videos. But his best are Baby Songs (his first one) and More Baby Songs. This one is good but the others are better."

"I received this as a hand-me-down in vhs format from a family member for my 4-month old twins. It was a HIT!! My girls will watch the video from their seats. Both children have peacefully fallin asleep to this video. Dont expect to enjoy the video for yourself ..but if your like me and need a moment to get some things done, definitely give it a try."
