"BABY OF THE BRIDE is the second installment from Rue McClanahan's popular "...Bride" trilogy. The story picks up a few weeks after the events from "Children of the Bride".
Newly-married Margaret Becker-Hix (Rue McClanahan, "The Golden Girls") and her younger husband John (now played by "Knots Landing" favourite Ted Shackelford) are faced with the very unexpected news of becoming parents. Not preprared for becoming a father so late in life, John stuns Margaret by walking out of the marriage, leaving Margaret to raise the baby by herself. Meanwhile, Margaret's pregnant daughter Mary (Kristy McNichol, "Empty Nest") decides to enter the workforce.
BABY OF THE BRIDE reunites the key cast members from "Children of the Bride", with the exceptions of Ted Shackelford and John Wesley Shipp, who both settle seamlessly into their previously-established roles.
Filmed at the very height of "Golden Girls"/"Empty Nest" popularity, BABY OF THE BRIDE was later followed by "Mother of the Bride". The DVD from Direct Source Special Products is nicely-priced; they've also released the other movies from the series. (Single-sided, single-layer disc)."
One of my favorites!

"This is one of three in a series of "____ of the Bride" Rue McClanahan movies. It and the other two are priceless! If you are a fan of Rue, you will love all three of these movies."
