"This dvd captures Miles, Tony, Herbie, Wayne amd Ron on German TV back in 1967, and is a incredible document of what was probably the most fiery, abstract and inspired quintet in jazz history. They had been playing most of these tunes for years, and they now bore little resemblance to the original recordings, as they were never content to rest on past laurels, it was all about pushing towards new boundaries, which probably wouldn`t have happened if not constantly being whipped, driven and confronted by the youngest guy in the band, the incomparable Tony Williams. When he left Miles (and I know I`ll start another riot stating this), Miles live was never the same. Each performer is given his spotlight and shines boldly, oblivious to the audience or cameras in front of them. As usual, Miles is always making scornful faces over sound and not being able to hear, as stage monitors weren`t utilized yet. If you are a fan of any or all of these amazing musicians who forever changed the face of jazz and several other forms of music, you need this in your collection NOW."
