Not the greatest, but still not the worst either. If you're in the mood for a bit of Amityville this will surely please.

My favorite Amityville...

(5 out of 5 stars)

"Don't Worry...It only hurts forever...They're coming for you Bill, and they are going to eat...your...soul!!! I love this Amityville movie, why it gets such mediocre ratings is beyond me. This one has it all, demons, up-side down crosses for door handles, killer wasp thingies...and Amityville 4 gets a 4 - 5 star rating and it's the cheesiest excuse for a horror movie i have ever seen, but whatever...anyways this movie is highly recommended if you liked Amityville, it's about time. Cool ass movie with great demons and such!"
Unwatchable?

(4 out of 5 stars)

"I can't believe there are people who say that this movie is unwatchable. I came across this movie right at the beginning while channel surfing past UPN. It was brilliant trainwreck from the beginning! I don't mean to say that it holds a candle to greats like Showgirls or Battlefield Earth, but it was a rollercoaster ride of bad acting, bad effects, bad characters, and almost too many plot lines to count.

I could see the movie being called "Amityville: Dollhouse" if it were just about the dollhouse. Instead, this movie is about the dollhouse, the really really creepy stepmother/stepson relationship, the chimney, the bees (and bee demons), the zombie dad, the sibling and step-sibling rivalry, the teenagers-should-not-be-getting-it-on-in-the-shed-with-bees-around concept, and it seems like there were at least 4 other plots going on in the meantime.

The bee demons were awesome, with their mean looking battle axes and stuff. The faux-Wiccan hippie aunt and biker uncle were comic genius. The is-it-the-chimney-or-is-it-the-dollhouse mass confusion kept me on my toes and on the edge of my seat.

It was a comic horror thrillride that I want to go on over and over and over again."
The better of the series
Micheal Hunt | Hellbourne | 04/26/2006
(3 out of 5 stars)

"I've never taken a liking to any of the Amityville movies until this one. (yeah, i didnt even like the first and original much)

However this one is such a different version to the rest of the AV series. The old house that has been used in the past burnt down. The last owner there lived there when he was 10, and now he's all grown up and has biult his new house on the same lot where the house burnt down. He has 2 kids, and a new wife who also has a kid. It's a family not getting along, but weird stuff happens cause of the house that tries to rip them apart (as in the other AV's)

The father finds a dollhouse int he shed that is of the old house. He gives it to his daughter for her birthday and all this weird stuff happens. The kids dead father comes back as a zombie and there is a prtal to a dimension from hell in the fire place.

Yes, its cheesey, it's B-Grade, some things done make sense, some things should have had an ending to them, there a plot holes and things not mentioned, but over all.... it's ok for the entertainment value for a bored night in."
