"This film is so down to earth - funny, touching, sad, hopeful, musical, beautifully photographed by Gene Engels, and very real. The 2 lead performances by Mark Collie and Coley McCabe are really outstanding - and they wrote and perform like 6 original country songs, plus there's a classic Steve Earle song in the movie, too. If you're a real American sick of the twisted studio crap, ALABAMA LOVE STORY is so worth your time. Curl up with your honey and you'll be in for a real treat. The director, Terry Moloney, is someone to watch - this is his firsat feature film, and I read somewhere that he replaced the original director just three days before filming began. If a director can achieve what this guy did with only 3 days prep, then the major studios should be hunting Moloney down. Imagine what he could do with a bigger budget and some actual prep time! This is the sleeper indy film of 2004. This movie is a country version of my Big Fat Greek Wedding. I can't recommend ALABAMA LOVE STORY any higher - 5 stars out of 5!!!"
A Countryspun Story

"This has all the parts of a good country song. It was light hearted and humerous, had deception, good guys, bad guys and a truck. The only thing missing was a dog ( but there was chickens....does that count ).
It is an entertaining easy going story to watch. The beautiful scenery will tug at your heart, almost as much as the couples hungry low simmering romance.
This is a story that can be watched many times and still enjoy.
A very good escape from the usual blood, guts and gore.
I'm going to buy it!"

"Mark Collie is my favorite country singer of all time, but when it comes to acting, he falls a bit short. Actually, all of the actors in this film could benefit from some acting lessons. Coley McCabe has a beautiful singing voice and I'm not sure why she's never made it on the country music scene, but she endears herself to the viewer and ultimately plays the kind of character everyone would love to have for a friend. I give this story a 4 star rating based on the storyline. It's a very sweet, feel good kind of movie with a little bit of humor thrown in. This balances out the lack of acting ability. It's a movie that I've enjoyed viewing several times."

"Want to view a very enjoyable movie to make you warm all over and laugh then Alabmam Love Story is the movie. I thought Mark Collie and Coley McCabe's performance was just fantastic. A story that some of us wish were ours. Roper was not a kidnapper in his heart but circumstances left him few choices, so he thought until Goodie showed him what was really in his heart (His love for her). He also showed her that she could have the warm love she wanted from a gentle hearted man. All they had to do was reach out for it and not settle for what was. I would like to have seen a soundtract or at least recordings of the music as I thought that it was super country music. And the fact Mark Collie and Coley McCabe wrote and performed these songs made it so enjoyable. I have watched it several times and plan to watch it a lot more. I recommend it very highly."

"Bought this because of the title. Like that it was set in Tuscaloosa. Was not quite what I expected, but it was still sort of cute."
