This collection is a fine set of war movie classics. They are done with some special effects, but they were all filmed before the days of CGI. Be prepared for some old-school action and humor.
Where Eagles Dare is an Alistair McLean story, with a supersoldier at its center. Be prepared to suspend disbelief a bit.
The Big Red One is the story of a company in World War II that is called upon to fight again and again. It centers on a battle-hardened sergeant who is human and tough.
The Hanoi Hilton tells the story of a bunch of American prisoners in a North Vietnamese prison camp for several years. It is told from their point of view, and not feeling sympathy for them is near impossible.
IMO, Kelly's Heroes is the weak link here. It's a macho action war movie that lost my interest pretty swiftly. Nonetheless, its excellent cast does exactly what one would expect in a macho action war movie.

The Big Red One - A classic epic story of the Big Red One, the nickname of the 1st Infantry Division of the United States Army. Established on June 8, 1917, the First Infantry Division has taken part in nearly every American War and is the longest continuously serving division of the U.S. Army. The 1st Infantry Division was the first unit to deploy and engage in battle during WWI, WWII, and Vietnam. Lee Marvin and others including Luke Skywalker shined in this! It's long at over 3 hours but an absolute must see!
