Movie Reviews

"I'm a die-hard Asia fan that's why I bought this DVD. Asia with the original, early-mid 80's line up of Whetton, Palmer, Downes and Howe only had three key albums to their credit: Asia, Alpha and Astra, and though the first two were major hits and the third (Astra) flopped, hard-core Asia fans loved all three with equal zeal. Then & Now had some previously unreleased good tracks as well.
While this video collection of only 5 of their hits (Heat Of The Moment, Only Time Will Tell, Wildest Dreams, Don't Cry, and The Smile Has Left Your Eyes) leaves a lot to be desired for, you may want to buy it if you're also an Asia fan.
If you're looking for another comparable collection of Asia videos, you should also check out "The Ultimate Collection". The main difference is that TUC contains live versions of most of their major hits from concerts in Moscow, England and USA, while this DVD contains the studio videos of just these 5 songs. TUC is a 3-disc collection while this is a single disc. If you want to see Asia live in action then I would definitely recommend buying TUC instead, but if you're a die-hard Asia fan like me who has all of Asia's main stuff then you might want to buy this too."
ASIA IS THE BEST BAND IN THE WORLD !!!

"I waited for this to D.V.D. to come out for months. This disc includes 5 music videos from the band "Asia". Asia has been around for 27 years now (formed in 1981) and they get better and better with each passing year. Amazon hasn't gotten around to creating an image for this title yet (as of 2004) on their search page. It was hard to find this release on their site. I had to go buy the ASIN number and search through a bunch of possibilities until I finally found it. This D.V.D. came out on April 20th, 2004. Amazon has it for only $7.98 (as of 2004). The picture quality is good on this disc. The 5 songs that are on this disc are "Heat of the Moment", "Only Time Will Tell", "Wildest Dreams", "Don't Cry" and the last one is "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes". The cover of this D.V.D. has a black and white photo of the 4 original band members. I am a die-hard Asia fan ever since the release of their first album (in 1982). I love them. They are incredible ! Buy this D.V.D. You won't be disappointed."
EXCELLENT - A MUST HAVE FOR ASIA FANS!

"This is an excellent DVD but lacks the 'GO' video unfortunately. The band appears in 4 out of 5 of the videos but only playing instruments in 3 of 5.
THIS IS A MUST HAVE IF YOU ENJOYED WATCHING ASIA ON MTV AND MISS THE VIDEOS - ALL ARE EXCELLENT QUALITY AND SOUND. 'Heat of the Moment' has the spinning globe and band members + sectioned screen playing various clips ... 'Only Time Will Tell' has a female gymnast flipping over Wetton, Downs, Palmer and Howe who appear on various TV sets... 'Dont Cry' has the guys in an 'Indiana Jones' type setting trying to find a lost pyramid... 'The Smile Has left Your Eyes' features a very well made video of a couple's breakup and the impact on their daughter... Wildest Dreams is just a compilation of War footage and video effects - no band members appear! YOU NEED THIS DVD IF YOU ARE AN ASIA FAN!"

"This DVD brought back some very good memories. I thought for its time the music and videos stood out. For me the music is still the best part of it all. The only sad thing is when you look at it, you have to wonder how huge they would have been had they just stayed together."
Thanks MTV for overplaying these videos! :)

""I saw you standing hand in hand..."Yes! These Asia videos were heavily played on MTV in the early 80s when there was a small playlist on the channel. Even HBO's Video Jukebox had a hand in wearing out these songs. I remember all of them well (except for one, "Wildest Dreams.")The videos featured on this DVD 20th Century Masters are ones that everyone remembers once they see them. If you don't, then you may appreciate "Heat of the Moment" more than those of us who saw them almost every few hours. On this DVD you will find:1. Heat of the Moment
2. Only Time Will Tell
3. Wildest Dreams
4. Don't Cry
5. The Smile Has Left Your EyesThe reason I purchased this DVD collection was for one video, "The Smile Has Left Your Eyes." The video was filmed as a foreign film with the band playing in front of a movie screen as if doing the soundtrack for the film, while the events unfold. This happens to be my favorite Asia song and video. If you are an Asia fan and want to see these videos played heavily again in your own home, run out and get this DVD!"
